This is a pretty faithful representation of my own hand and forearm modeled in ZBrush.
Interestingly, this was scrapped because of how objects that recede into the center of the screen appear in a first-person view. The hand and forearm must be very bulky in order for it to look more like it has normal proportions. This phenomenon is caused by how graphics are mapped linearly on a flat screen by a single camera, versus the more curved images from our stereoscopic vision. The end result based on our camera settings is that the arm gets really small when it sticks into the center of the screen.
